Managers are supposed to listen to their employees and develop positive feelings together. This is the only way to get inner motivation.

Some managers constantly motivate their employees. One employee motivation campaign follows the next. This permanent motivation has many effects and brings a lot of pressure.

The mental well-being in the workplace particularly depends on collaboration among colleagues. If you support each other and appreciate the skills and strengths of each individual, this has a positive effect on the entire working atmosphere.

Activities are carried out for the sake of employees, which occurs when the employee experiences a very personal satisfaction by performing his or her work. Inner motivation can be particularly promoted, for example, through a high level of participation in decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and employee training.

With the attitude “You have the solution in you”, managers also strengthen the growth motive “loyalty” in their employees. The feeling of being perceived as an individual and being taken seriously creates human closeness.

  1. Motivation through praise and recognition

A good relationship only works if the partners show each other respect and recognition and occasionally praise one another. The dynamic between manager and employee should look similar. An employee who is recognized by their superiors feels valued and is much more motivated at work. You should praise personally and honestly.

  1. Set up advancement opportunities

A promotion is something special and motivating for every employee. The range of tasks is expanding and becoming more exciting and varied. Always try to improve weaknesses but also strengths and not be unsettled and demotivated by setbacks. In general, the keyword is initiative. Whether you are looking for a new task on your own or volunteering to distribute projects, you show commitment.

  1. Communicate properly

The core competence that every manager must master is communication. Again, the comparison can be made to a good relationship. If the partners do not manage to communicate openly with each other, the relationship will not work in the long run. Make clear and understandable statements, address problems directly but constructively and always use a tone and language that is appropriate for the situation.

  1. Flexible working hours

The compatibility of family and work is the most important agenda of many employees. Companies need flexible working time regulations, in addition to the right working atmosphere, in order to deliver the desired working conditions. In the end, such a regulation also benefits the different biorhythms of the employees and thus increases productivity. Some people like to get up early, but they can also go home earlier. Others may just need a little longer in the morning, but then appear well rested in the office and return to home later.

  1. Allowing mistakes and solving problems together

To always work together on a problem-oriented solution and to ensure that all learn from mistakes. Because often there is not even one culprit, but many different circumstances come together that ultimately lead to the error. A problem that is tackled together without embarrassing anyone promotes team cohesion enormously and is very motivating.

Studies have also shown that employees who don’t have to worry about losing their job if they make a mistake are much more motivated and also work more innovatively.

  1. Realistic goals and clear expectations

For a possible benefit, you need to know your employee authorization responsibilities and requirements. There is no point in setting goals that are far too high and giving them too much work. Because that inevitably leads to an attitude of refusal and, in the end, to even less work being done. Set your tasks, but also realistic goals.

  1. Trust

For many people, behind trust in the job is security, belonging, collegiality, helpfulness and mutual appreciation. Trust is the basis for efficient teamwork, while mistrust means critical observation of behavior, control and costs resources. In such a strong corporate culture, people feel safe and can concentrate fully on the content of their work. They will reward the trust that is placed in them with good qualities.

  1. Radiate Positivity

Work can be much more than just financial security for one’s own existence. Those who have a job feel they are useful. Work gives recognition for what you achieve. Those who use their abilities and master the challenges experience satisfaction in their work. The power of positive thoughts makes you happy, successful and changes our lives for the better.

  1. Give more responsibility

In order to be able to take on more tasks and thus responsibility in the job, you should therefore keep yourself constantly up to date in your field. Your manager should be able to see that you are doing your job to the best of your ability.

  1. Effectiveness vs efficiency

“I work effectively when I do something that leads to the desired result (doing the right things).”

“ I work efficiently when I achieve the desired result with little effort (doing things right).”

“Effective, but not efficient” means having achieved a goal, but with great effort. “Efficient, but not effective” means having achieved a lot with little effort, but still not reaching the goal.

BONUS: Surprise + fun

It is best to work in a relaxed and casual working atmosphere. With all efforts, however, the fun of the job should not be lost. Allow funny moments, mutual laughter connects. Likewise celebrating successes. Special gift exchanges for birthdays, secret Santa, raffle etc.
